Antica Contea

Gorizia, Cormons, Gradisca

Gorizia, Cormons and Gradisca d’Isonzo: three art-heritage towns with a common thousand-year-old history, different landscapes, a charming territory with the gentle hills of “Collio”, grapevines and dry stacks of the stony “Carso” and the blue Isonzo river.

A fine old-town with a clear Habsburg heritage, elegant churches and palaces.

In the heart of “Collio” and in the shade of Quarin mountain, you can see the village of Cormons and its red roofs surrounded by lined vineyards.

A town full of art, history, architecture, wine and food culture with a mild climate that ensured it the name of “Austria’s Nice” in the second half of the 19th century.

Being a meeting point between peoples and cultures, at the crossroads among the Latin, German and Slavic worlds, Gorizia keeps unaltered the melancholy of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which can be perceived today in its squares, along its wooded avenues or walking in the charming noble buildings of the 18th century and in their beautiful gardens.

Gradisca d'Isonzo

Four centuries of Habsburg in uence have left their historical mark which is now combined with a striking commercial and cultural inclination.

A bastion of the Republic of Venice “La Serenissima”, the town of Gradisca d’Isonzo is surrounded by city walls which protect the centre of the town, its elegant buildings facing the main streets and elegant shops.
